Rafael Nadal says he and his family are ‘very well’ after birth of first child
Tennis star Rafael Nadal says he and his family are “very well” after his baby girl was born last Friday.
The world number two is due to give birth to baby Sofia on December 17.
He wrote on Instagram, posting a picture of the baby bump.
“You’re my angel and from now on ‘Sofia’ I will always love you.
“For the last few weeks it’s been the happiest time in my life and I thank you for all the joy you have given me and for the great moments we had together,” he added.

The 31-year-old Spaniard’s son is his first child – and his third child – to be born in 2015.
Nadal has previously revealed that his baby girl, who is due in early December, is due on the same day his wife is due to give birth to their third child. He wrote: ‘With all her pregnancy and being in hospital, I didn’t notice that Sofia is also coming on December 17 to meet the family’s third child but now she’s confirmed.
‘I was going to keep an eye on it but I was too busy feeling her on my stomach and listening to her movements. Now I am waiting for my wife’s due date instead.’
