San Francisco launches guaranteed income program for transgender residents

A guaranteed income program will be launched in San Francisco’s Mission District by the San Francisco Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing, according to a news release.

The program, the San Francisco Department of Housing and the San Francisco Foundation have formed a partnership to build housing and create jobs in the Mission District.

The program, the San Francisco Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing has partnered with the San Francisco Foundation, the Center for Neighborhood Technology and the Trans Mission District Development Corporation.

The program will guarantee residents over the age of 18 who identify as trans women or trans men will get a stipend annually. People will get up to $2,800 per year, depending on their income.

The program is also intended to increase participation in the housing and supportive services programs already offered by the San Francisco Department of Homelessness & Supportive Housing.

The program is currently being tested. The program’s first focus will be on individuals who are experiencing homelessness.
