January 18, 2014 “Information Clearing House” – (CN) The US government and the world’s media have been portraying the violent suppression of the self-determination of the indigenous peoples of Argentina as a protest by a small group of people. They paint the government as the aggressor by attacking its own president, and call for a military takeover.

This is how the media paints its perception of the events in Argentina:

This is how the US government and the world’s media portray the events in Argentina:

The facts of the events are the opposite: The US government, supported by the media, is attempting to prevent the self-determination of the indigenous peoples of Argentina from their own governments. The media is attacking the government. The US government and the world’s media are being held by the people of Argentina.

And now the US government, working with the media, is attempting to convince the world that the events in Argentina are the actions of a small group of people.

A month after they took over the government of Argentina, a coalition of the US-educated governments of the world, led by the US and Brazil, launched an international offensive against the indigenous people of Argentina. It is called “Operation Backfired”. It is described as a “humanitarian intervention” by the Western newspapers.

The attack has no rationale for it. The first reason is because Argentina has no debt to the US, and no debt to the world. The United States and other western powers, including the European Union, have to provide the debt to finance the wars and the imperial wars waged against the people of the world. The second reason is that Western powers and allied governments believe that the government of Argentina is attempting a coup to overthrow the government of President Mauricio Macri.

While the western governments and the media attempt to portray the Argentine events as the actions of only a few individuals, the facts of events tell a different story. For over four days, the military and the police had the US ambassador and a visiting American journalist under arrest, and tortured them. They held them for over a week, and made them lie and give false confessions. The US ambassador had a camera, and the journalist had a camera, and the police had an electronic device.
