Six masked suspects steal jewelry, handbags at gunpoint in Mid-City, police say
Investigators had no suspects in mind when they first spotted three men wearing masks riding a skateboard in the middle of the night in Mid-City.
But it didn’t take long for cops to figure out what was going on.
“It was late, around 1:30 a.m.,” said Capt. Michael Noyes with Mid-City Police Department. “We were at the Easton Golf Course, which is at 3rd Street and Easton Road, and we saw the two men, and then the third man rode up on a skateboard, in the middle of the road.”
The three men were armed with a handgun, Noyes said.
They walked into an empty retail establishment on the east side of Easton Road and approached a female employee.
Police say they tied her up and ransacked the store before stealing a pair of diamond earrings, $3,000 in jewelry, and a pink purse containing $3,000 in cash.
Mid-City police don’t have any suspects in mind right now, but are asking for anyone who may have noticed anything unusual over the past few days to call police.
